I’ve realized something in the past couple of days. Last year I started this blog, fully intending to keep it updated and such. It would appear I haven’t been too successful have I? I’ll give you a run down of how what life has had happen since.
I got moved to Kentucky. I made a stopover in Oklahoma on they way, and had a good time with my cousins. I played tourist on the way to KY from NE, and I had a few adventures doing so. Life since September has been pretty much getting adjusted to living in a new place, and working on raising monthly support.
I noticed something on the long trip out to Kentucky. People nowadays have no elevator etiquette. What I mean by that is this: When you press the up or down button to summon the elevator, and the elevator arrives at your floor, it is customary to allow any passengers getting off the elevator to do so. People seem to have forgotten this. I lost track of how many times I was ready to get off the elevator, and had people start walking in on me, only to then discover that they had to let me pass. What ever happened to manners? Scratch that. Whatever happened to common sense? Scratch half of that. When did people start thinking of themselves as the center of the universe?
Strangely enough, since I moved out here, I’ve been back home literally every month since. Oh sure, the holiday season would make perfect sense for a trip home. October’s trip wasn’t planned. Well it technically was, as I decided to go with basically only a few hours advance notice. My Grandma and pretty much one of my two favorite people ever got sick. She has since partially recovered and moved into a nursing home, but the suddenness of it all hit the ground like a sack of wet cement. It was a Sunday morning, I was getting ready for church, and Mom calls. That afternoon I had a ticket from Nashville to Denver, and that night Frontier Airlines gave me a ride the rest of the way. A friend of mine was gracious enough to drive all the way from home to Denver to pick me up. I spent two weeks home with family. At this writing, Grandma still isn’t doing the greatest. I’m debating on flying home for weekend both in February and March. So any of you out in internet land who would like to come, should. I’m sure I’ll need the moral support. And bring your cameras! I know some totally awesome places to do photoshoots at.
Speaking of photos, some of my shots since September have been spectacular. I’ll try to post some in the next couple of weeks. Also coming soon is a study on James 1. Coming more long term are studies on God’s view and design for sex, music and culture, and a couple more (my titles eluding me, as well as the subjects). The length of these may require I place them on the Missionaire/Damascus Road website, and post links.
